The Lived Experiences of Patients¢¥ Hospitalization



Abstract
The purpose of this study was to describe nature and meaning of the lived experiences of clients¢¥ hospitalization. Forty clients who were administered interviewed regarding their subjective experiences. Data were analyzed using Van Caam¢¥s method of phenomenology, 369 significant statements were extracted and clusterd into 44 cluster themes, 11 themes and 5 categories. The results are as follow: The Glints expressed their negative feeling of hospitalization filled with anxiety, deny, grieving, emptiness and repentance. Its motives were a anxiety of operation, feeling of death, uncertained future, and kindless attitude of health care personnel. But the negative feeling was overcome by the Glints who had a convincing of recovery, positive thinking of future, dependence on faith, consoling with peer patients, and formulating of rapport with health care personnel. And they had a positive feeling of hospitalization which was to understanding their families and other patients. Thus experiences of clients¢¥ hospitalization implied not only negative aspects, but also positive aspects, introspective thinking of their life.
